Ashburton viewing

Yesterday we had a very nice dinner at ZaZa’s, which I prebooked through Groupon. Yes they have Groupon here as well! It was four km from our hotel. Since the walkways are very smooth here we decided to go by skate. Except for the hill that we encountered  that was a very good choice. Although that one trip did eat up most of the brakes on our skates.

People seem very surprised to see us on skates.

Here is the continuation of yesterdays inspections. We quickly drove back to Ashburton for our most promising Ashburton view for today.

Ashburton, 11.15 a.m.

This next house has an appealing description:

‘Brand new kitchen with new oven, rangehood and sink, recently painted throughout, brand new polished floor boards, renovated bathroom with new vanity, new toilet and shower over bath, three good sized bedrooms all with BIR’s, lock up garage, large sunny back yard perfect for entertaining and new laundry room to accommodate both dryer and washing machine. Features include NEW oven, NEW range hood, NEW ducted heating, short distances to shops, super market, parks and transport. ‘

Most promising Ashburton view for today….

The house is already empty, so we could have this house before the end of the week giving us opportunity to use the rest of the week finding furniture, so we do not move into an empty house in June. Walking through an empty house it is more difficult to see the size of the house. The living room seems rather small, but the bedrooms have a nice size. The built in robes are Ikea cabinets, but they have more storage space then most of the built in robes that we have seen so far. The polished floor is very, very nice. The garden is very big. There is even an extra room in the garden. Which does have a weird smell right now, but we hope that is because of the carpet that is in it which we can easily replace. In the back of the house, from the laundry room on you are suddenly in an old house. Which it is of course, but you tend to forget that walking through a renovated house. We can definitely see us living here too!

The polished floor boards are a really big plus

After this inspection we are certain, we will apply for this Ashburton house and the one in Mount Waverley. Normally this is not possible. If the owner approves your application you will have to rent the place. Therefore you can only apply to one house. So we quickly drive to the office to drop off the application forms, as the office closes at 12 p.m. With a first preference for the house in Mount Waverley. We could definitely also see ourselves living in the second Ashburton house though.

Now we have to wait until Tuesday before we know if our application got accepted, or if the competition was stronger….

  1. Gaaf hoor 😉.

Vielleicht setzt Ihr ja einen neuen Modetrend down under?

    Wäre doch was – oder?

Liebe Grüße an die zukünftigen Melbournians aus Duisburg und Düsseldorf!
