For my 40-some birthday I received a package from my friends Karin, Susan and Suzan. Along with cards and great knutsels* they also send me a book with the title “Chickslovefood” and the subtitle “cook with five ingredients or less”. These friends I have known for the greater portion of my life, so they know what I like!
I was immediately inspired for this years birthday cake as I love chocolate and like to cook from scratch. After last years chocolate explosion (a definite must try as well) of course my cake will have to include chocolate and preferably not be too complicated, so a snickers cake with five ingredients sounds like the perfect cake to me. Today I went to a birthday party from a friend Nathan. I know Nathan from my old school. I arrived fifteen minutes too early but I wasn’t the first guest at his party! Continue reading “Birthday party at Timezone!”

So the only option was the night before. A secret operation under the cover of darkness. Continue reading “Birthday present for an 8-year-old – Part 2”
It’s Luka’s birthday today. And with birthday, you have presents. We tried to convince Luka that this year, we’d turn this around and she would give us presents. But somehow that idea didn’t fly with her.
So, back to the drawing board. What do you give your 8-year-old daughter who already has everything? Continue reading “Birthday present for an 8-year-old – Part 1”
This is a very easy recipe and the result is extremely tasty. I made it for the party that we had before we left to Australia and recently for my birthday. Luka thinks it is heavenly, and I could not agree with her more. Continue reading “Recipe: soft chocolate tart”
Arriving in the dark, late last night, it did look like a good spot. The Wilsons Promontory seemed like a great place to wake up in and celebrate my birthday. Continue reading “Is this a good camping spot?”
