Now that we had the trampoline sitting in a big box in our secret hiding place, it came to making plans on when to set it up. Since we wanted it ready on Sunday morning when Luka woke up, this presented us with a bit of a problem. Let’s just say that Luka (like most children I know) is not known for sleeping in on her birthday.
So the only option was the night before. A secret operation under the cover of darkness.

Once the kids were in bed, I started the assembly. Luckily we have a nice, big carport with proper lights. So I was not totally blind.

I did have to be a bit careful, as the kids’ bedroom is right above the carport and the windows were open. Banging the frame pieces together made quite some noise.

Happily the ground in this part of the “garden” is very level, so we only had to do a few minor adjustments to get everything even.

The whole affair took us about an hour and a half. In the end a lot quicker than we had initially thought.
The next morning, after breakfast, we took the kids outside. It turns out that I was careful enough the night before and they had not heard anything. Neither did they look out of the kitchen window before breakfast.
Nothing can compare to the looks of joy on their faces when they saw our latest addition to our garden.
