We have been here for exactly two weeks now. We are over our jet lag and away from all the rushing to get everything organized. There is still enough to do, but the first priorities are set. Oliver has started work two days ago. Now slowly the everyday normal life is getting reality. So I guess the ordinary life is about to start. Why does it not feel that way yet? A new(ish) car
Today we finalized the (hopefully) last, big transaction of our move: a new car. It’s a blue one. 🙂 Continue reading “A new(ish) car”
Back to nature
Today we took a day off from trying to organize everything and headed out to the Maroondah Reservoir, about an hours drive from where we live. The weather was nice, and since it’s Friday, we were more or less alone. Continue reading “Back to nature”
School
Today was a special day for the kids: they were able to spend two hours in school this morning, getting to know their new classmates and teachers. Quite exciting. Continue reading “School”
Up the money tree
Transforming an empty house into something livable is turning out to be quite the task. And an expensive one at that. Luckily, we’re having some help. Continue reading “Up the money tree”
First visit to the Markham Reserve
After buying a used fridge with a very strong Indian spice smell through gumtree and a visit to a diy (do it yourself) warehouse we drove to the Markham Reserve, just a five minute drive from our house. Continue reading “First visit to the Markham Reserve”
A new home…
The day has arrived. We have now officially moved into our new home in the suburbs of Melbourne. Continue reading “A new home…”
What a trip
We have finally made it! Four people, 6 pieces of checked luggage and 8-ish pieces of hand baggage have reached Melbourne, after spending almost 24 hours in the air. We’re home. Continue reading “What a trip”
Track our flight
We are almost on our way now. We left everyone behind and we can now hear and smell the airport from our hotel. All that is waiting is one more night in a comfortable bed. Continue reading “Track our flight”
We’re underway
We’re finally underway! We’ve packed our last bag, said our last good-byes and are now spending the night at the hotel close to Schiphol airport, so that we can check-in tomorrow morning and not have to fight with the rush-hour. There’s no way back, now. Continue reading “We’re underway”
