It is December 25th, Christmas Day, and above 35 degrees. We’ve unwrapped the presents, had some nice breakfast and are now slowly cooking away at home, enjoying our gifts and each other’s company.
And, just to kill the suspense, yes, I did get some socks and underwear for Christmas.
We had actually thought that, since we are not with the grandparents, the amount of presents would be less than in previous years. But, as you can see from the title picture, that was not the case. Willemijn has been busily wrapping small gifts and putting them in out secret hiding place for the past few weeks. And when we got them out to put them under the tree, there were a lot more than we expected. And I mean a LOT!
Before going to bed last night, we made a guess as to when the kids would wake us up today, and ended up at something around 5:30h. Anything later we would consider a gift.
Turns out our kids were very generous with mom and dad this year: it was past 7:00h before they started stirring! And after some coffee and tea, we proceeded with the unwrapping of the presents.

The rest of the day we spent doing nothing much. Which is exactly how a Christmas day should be, don’t you think?
Fantastic 🙂
