Just before heading to bed, my thoughts go out to the men and women fighting the blaze that is currently threatening several small towns not two hours from where I sit, as well as to everyone living or vacationing in the area.
A total fire ban is also in effect for all of Melbourne.
A bush fire has been burning for several hours now along the Great Ocean Road, burning (as of now) more than 2000 hectares of land and more than 60 houses. Follow the story here.
So far, it seems, no serious loss of life has occurred.
