English after five months in Australia
Leaving our seven and nine year old children behind on the first school days back in July felt like a horrible thing to do, since they did not speak nor understand much English. How is that feeling now, almost five months later?
Showcase 2015 – a night in the theatre
“I am so excited” says Luka as we are driving towards the Monash University at 6.30 pm. Tonight they are performing on a real stage, together with more than 500 other students from the Essex Heights Primary School. They have been practising a long time for this. After two months of school
The first term/quarter in Australia is almost over. Kai and Luka really like to go to school in the morning and come home happy in the afternoon. I find the progress amazing, we can see and hear big development in their English and in their confidence. Where Luka had problems reading anything two months ago, she now easily finishes an English book. More and more new words come out of their mouths and they ask a lot more questions. I find that a good sign, if you don’t understand anything it is hard to ask questions about it, where would you start? Continue reading “After two months of school”

School Athletics
