Recipe: Beer (almost) from scratch

As you can see from the multiple recipes about different foods on this blog, we like making things “from scratch”. It is a lot of fun to understand, how some of the stuff you usually get from a bag are actually made, and to do this yourself.

Digital parenting

While we are in cold and chilly in Melbourne. Yes, it really is cold now! The weather forecast predicts snow at 300m altitude (we are at 116m). In the Dandenong Ranges we can see and feel snow, which is about a half hour drive from here, 10 minutes from my new job. Oliver is in 23 degrees weather, as he took the airplane to work yesterday and is in Brisbane for a couple of days.

My first job interview

After months of searching I finally did get my first job interview for a part time position in Australia. On my way it almost felt like doing it for the first time again. Just to make sure -and probably because of my Dutch roots- I got there way too early. That was not a problem as there was a coffee place just around the corner, where I could sit down, go to the bathroom and warm up my hands on the hot cup of coffee that I treated myself to.
