Project Avo – the beginning

Something I have never done, but always wanted to try, is growing my own Avocado tree. And since we are now living in warmer climates, I think the chances or success are actually pretty OK.

And a new year has started. Time to try something (else) new! So here we go.

Coming home from work tonight I found that Willemijn had prepared taco’s for us, which included a (quite tasty) Avocado. So I thought I’d give this whole Avo-tree-thing a try.

A quick search on the internet brought me to this video and the realisation that growing an Avo tree does not have to be difficult. This is what I did:

Step 1: Get the Avocado pit out of the fruit and clean it.

Step 2: Peel the skin off of the pit.
Step 2: Peel the skin off of the pit.
Step 3: Insert three toothpicks at an angle into the top of the pit.
Step 3: Insert three toothpicks at an angle into the top of the pit.
Step 4: Place in water and put into the window.
Step 4: Place in water and put into the window.

Now the waiting begins. I’ll keep you posted.

  1. Leuk joh!
